United Way Elects 4 New Board Members
Eric Booker, Lisa Busby, Debra Johnson and Betty Perkins to Serve 3 Year Terms
Niles – Eric Booker (Simplicity Pattern Company), Lisa Busby (Ferry Street School Community Resource Center), Debra L. Johnson (Lakeland Health Systems) and Betty Perkins (Community Volunteer) were recently elected to serve 3-year terms on the board of directors for the United Way of Greater Niles.
““The community is very fortunate to have these quality individuals donate their time and talents to help lead our local United Way,” said executive director, John Stauffer.
Also, at the May 17th annual meeting Nancy Studebaker and Richard DeVos were elected to serve second three year terms and the board elected WyVonne Johnson to serve as President; Studebaker as Vice President; and DeVos as Treasurer for 2006-07.
A Thank You Volunteers Reception was held after the annual meeting to honor all United Way volunteers.
Paul Rifenberg was honored for serving as the 2005 Campaign Chair.
Last year more than 11,000 people in the Niles area were served by United Way charities. More than $10 million has been raised for local charities by the United Way of Greater Niles since its founding in 1953.
